What it is, what it does, why it pays

Panels on your roof that turn daylight into electricity for your house. They power the house through the day and sell the surplus back to the grid. Most homes stop buying 50 to 70 percent of the electricity they currently pay for, for the next 25 years.

How solar actually works

Your panels generate electricity during daylight and power the house in real time. Anything you do not use is exported to the grid, and your supplier pays you for it under the Smart Export Guarantee. Even on an overcast day the system keeps generating, and a good one lasts well past 25 years.

We design the system around your roof, its orientation and how much electricity you actually use. We do not sell a standard package, because a standard package is how people end up with an array that is too small or a battery they did not need.

Why homeowners are switching

Lower bills

Generate your own power instead of buying it. Most homes cut what they buy from the grid by 50 to 70 percent.

Protection from price rises

The more you generate yourself, the less a tariff increase actually costs you.

Paid for what you export

Under the Smart Export Guarantee your supplier pays you for the surplus your house does not use.

A more valuable house

A better EPC and a lower running cost are both things buyers now look for and pay for.

Two ways to pay for it

You are already spending money on electricity every month. Both of these make that number smaller.

Finance, and cash positive from year one

You do not need to increase your monthly outgoings to go solar. In most cases the monthly repayment is lower than what you currently pay for electricity, so you replace a bill with a smaller fixed cost and start saving straight away.

No large sum upfront, and you are insulated from the next price rise.

Cash, and the fastest payback

No interest and no finance cost. Typical payback is five to eight years, and everything after that is saving. Your roof stops being a cost and becomes an asset.

Solar is zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027.

The questions people actually ask

Does solar work on cloudy days?

Yes. Panels generate from daylight, not direct sunlight. Output drops on an overcast day but the system keeps producing all year round.

Do I need a south-facing roof?

No. East and west-facing roofs still produce 70 to 85 percent of optimal output, which is plenty to be worth doing. We confirm your roof during the assessment.

What is the Smart Export Guarantee?

A government-backed scheme that requires your energy supplier to pay you for the electricity you export back to the grid. Rates vary between suppliers, so we advise on the best option for you.

Is it worth it if I am out during the day?

Yes. Solar still cuts your overall grid dependence. Paired with a battery you store the daytime generation and use it in the evening, which is when most households actually need it.

Do I need planning permission?

In most cases no, as panels usually fall under permitted development. We confirm this for your specific property at survey stage.

How long does installation take?

Most installations are finished within one to two days by our own certified teams.

How long do the panels last?

Premium panels are built for 25 years or more, with manufacturer performance warranties typically covering that period. Most keep generating well beyond it.

What happens in a power cut?

A standard solar system shuts down during a grid outage for safety reasons. Some battery systems include backup functionality, and we can advise on that during the assessment.
