The whole idea, in one paragraph

A battery fills up overnight when electricity is cheapest, or from your solar panels during the day. You then use that stored energy through the evening peak instead of buying it at the expensive rate.

What it is

A battery in the garage or utility room

Compact, quiet, wall or floor mounted. Tesla Powerwall, AlphaESS and Duracell among the systems we fit.

What it does

Holds cheap electricity until you need it

Charges overnight at the off-peak rate, or from your own solar during the day.

Why it pays

You stop buying at peak rates

Zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027, which takes a chunk off the install cost.

~5p
per unit overnight, on a time-of-use tariff
versus
20–25p
per unit during the day

On the portion of your electricity that moves from the expensive rate to the cheap one, that is a saving of roughly 70 to 80 percent. Nothing about how you live has to change.

Figures depend on your tariff. We check yours at the survey rather than assuming.

Four things people ask

Do I need solar panels first?

No. A battery pays on its own by charging overnight at the off-peak rate. Solar makes it better, not necessary.

Will it keep the lights on in a power cut?

Some systems will, with backup functionality specified at design stage. Tell us if that matters and we will size for it.

How long does the install take?

Usually a single day.

What size do I need?

It depends on your evening usage rather than your total usage. We work it out from your bills at the free survey.
